The nursing staff I saw today in Triage were courteous, well mannered and most importantly to me, very re-assuring. I was then asked in to see Dr Sulliman, who I found to be most caring and understanding. He explained everything that was happening and the probable cause of my complaint, while again being re-assuring at all times. On this occasion I did not have to wait too long to be seen, and can't thank them enough for their professionalism. In my humble opinion from the times I have attend this facility, Sunderland Eye Infirmary has to be one of the very best in this country. Sincere thanks.

The staff - nurses and doctors were really professional and caring. The only quibble I have was the waiting of 4+ hours. I dont however have any suggestions that could help reduce this - after all it is an accident and emergency department. Thank you for the care given.

As and outpatient and at A and E I have always had an excellent experience at the hospital. As it was Monday there were a lot of people waiting at A and E when I arrived at 09:40, but the triage nurses very efficiently dealt with the queue and I soon saw a nurse practitioner would provided me with all the help I needed. I was given a prescription which I took to the hospital pharmacy. Yes there was some waiting but I was in and out in 2 hours with my medical needs met.

1) Considering that the department was extremely busy, I was seen by "triage" within 30 minutes and total time less than 2 hours - excellent. 2) I felt that the assessment was very good and properly allocated to a Nurse Practitioner who, after a thorough examination, took care to explain what it was and also what it was not. This gave me great re-assurance - thank you

The care I received was excellent. The only thing I might add would be for junior doctors to be introduced as to who they are. I am more than happy for them to further their development with senior staff but it is nice to have better introductions.
